Paris is the largest city of the last great plain of western Europe. This vast plain called the Bassin Parisien  is crossed by large rivers of the Aisne, the Oise, the Marne and the Seine.

Lots of cereals are grown but by fewer operators. Are also grown several potted plants and bedding, perennials, watercress, parsley, azaleas, lettuce, the peas, faba bean, beans ...

The region of Ile-de-France is made in Paris and seven departments of Yvelines, Val d'Oise, Seine-Saint-Denis, Hauts de Seine, in the Essonne, Val de Marne, and Seine-et-Marne. All for an area of 1.2 million hectares, a quarter is composed of the forest and a half of farmland (in 2009, SOURCE in french).

Of the 80 million tourists who visit France how much of them have attended Bistros, Cafes, restaurants, museums (Louvre, Quai Branly, Palais de la Découverte ...), parks (Jardin du Luxembourg ...) and woods (Boulogne and Vincennes) religious buildings (Notre Dame, Sacred Heart ...), cultural (Trocadéro, Eiffel Tower, etc ...), administrations (town halls, Courthouse, defense ...) cruises on the Seine, visit the basement ... the French themselves have made nearly 204 million trips with 89% in mainland France.
